Whew...I've Been Lazy

So I just finished working out on day 2. The reason that I JUST finished working out is because I was lazy this morning. I love to sleep. I love to sleep a lot. My plan was to get up this morning and work out...but that didn't happen. I hit the snooze button and slept until the last minute...having to drive an hour to work everyday means I would have to get up pretty early to work out. Anyway, back to the workout I just got done with.

I'm weak. I'm really weak. At my peak (freshman year of college), I was lifting weights twice a day. I wasn't big, but I was fairly toned. Now, even though I don't have a lot of extra weight, I'm flabby. I'm doing a workout that I found in Men's Health Magazine. It's appropriately called the "Get Back in Shape!" workout. It's all about using your own body weight to work your muscles instead of free weights or machines (did I mention I also like cheap things?) It's awesome! I don't think I've ever worked so hard just to do a few simple exercises. I really feel like i worked nearly all of my muscles and it only takes about half an hour. I know it technically for guys...but I think it could be beneficial for everyone. Check out these Men's Health Workouts. They are pretty awesome for those of us without a gym membership.

As I did my workout, I somehow got stuck watching The Biggest Loser. I actually got the DVR stuck on this show, so I kinda had to watch it, but it was good because I learned a few things!

Fact 1: Wild oats are one of the few foods that can actually help lower bad cholesterol. You can use wild oats to make everything from cookies to homemade granola bars.

Fact 2: One full serving of avocado only has 50 calories! One of my favorite sandwiches at Jimmy John's is the beach club that has Avocado has the sandwich spread as opposed to mayo or mustard...who knew this was healthy! The trainers on the show said that a little avocado can be used instead of mustard or mayo to make a sandwich much healthier...it also tastes really good!

Just some things to consider.
